In order to achieve these goals, ISA is committed to continuously improving our Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety (QEH&S) Management System.
Our QEH&S policy is based on the continual improvement of our practices and procedures. We will develop and maintain a quality program conforming to best practices within the scrap recycling industry. By listening to and working with our internal and external customers, we will exceed their expectations and strive to become their preferred supplier.
It is our goal to eliminate work related injuries and illnesses, and to provide a safe work environment. This will be accomplished by concentrating on the following areas:
- Supervisor accountability
- Active accident investigation to eliminate root causes
- Ongoing assessment of the ever changing workplace for hazards
- Maintaining equipment in a safe operating condition
- Continued relevant employee training
We believe that safety does not just happen-it requires commitment from the entire ISA team. We are committed to complying with all environmental laws, regulations, permits and standards of practice applicable to our operations, and plan ahead for future requirements. We will monitor, evaluate and continuously improve the effectiveness of our environmental practices through mandatory periodic audits, reviews and the successful implementation of new environmental initiatives.
ISA senior management is responsible for communicating this policy and its scope, and ensuring its implementation. ISA managers are responsible for adopting these core values and objectives into their decision making and operational practices. All employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with this policy.
